Wainrot was cultivated director of the Grupo de Danza Contemporanea from 1982 to 1985, which toured the Sovjet Union, Spain, Brasil, Uruguay and Argentina.
For that company, he created many works — Anne Frank, Libertango, Symphony of Psalms, Festival, Reflections and Three Argentine Dances — which are on the repertoire of many companies.

From 1989 to 1991 he set seven different works as permanent caller choreographer for the Hildesheim Stadttheater in Germany. He was appointed artistic conductor of the Ballet Contemporaneo Teatro San Martin in Buenos Aires in January 1999.
